Don’t Tattle

A good morning, dear audience. I surely hope that the person who complained to the police department about the noise from my pop up trailer in my back yard isn’t amongst your ranks. If you are, I hope you’re happy: I had to give Jessica, Derek, and Tricia (who sleeps out there sometimes, since she finds staying only in the guest bedroom too confining) a stern talking-to this morning. I also had to promise the police officer who came to my door that they would not cause any additional disturbances. He told me if there are any more incidents, he will cite me for having an illegal apartment on my property.

Personally, I suspect that it was a young person who complained to the police. I think this for two reasons. First, I never heard any music coming from that pop up trailer, not once, so it must have been someone with very sharp hearing. And second, going to police without contacting me first was sneaky, which is the way that a lot of young people behave: Sneakily, and always squealing to the authorities over the slightest concern.

This sort of moral decay all started with that TV game show Tattletales, where they got celebrity couples to reveal embarrassing personal details about their relationships. As if the world needed to know Chuck Woolery and Jo Ann Pflug’s dirty laundry! And naturally, because all the celebrities were doing it, the younger generation started following in their footsteps, just like that Lindsay Lohan. And that’s how we got to where we are today. I’m thinking of getting some tee-shirts printed that say “Don’t Tattle” on them to get the message out. Young people seem to like tee-shirts. I see them wearing them all over the place. Even if I sold them at a loss, it would be worth it just to get the message out.

Until next time!

Ahoy,
